Your Delaware controlled substance registration (CSR) does NOT renew with your medical license. It is a separate DELPROS renewal application on a different clock: CSR expires June 30 of odd-numbered years, the medical license expires March 31 of odd-numbered years, so in a renewal year you have two deadlines three months apart.
The late period is not a grace period. DPR states it is illegal to practice in Delaware while your license is expired, and the late renewal application requires you to certify you have not practiced while expired.
Miss the one-year late window and the license terminates entirely: you reapply as a new applicant with NPDB self-query, Delaware and FBI fingerprint background checks, service letters, and license verifications, and DELPROS gives you only 6 months to finish the application once you start it.

Does renewing my medical license also renew my controlled substance registration? ▾

No. The Delaware CSR is a separate DELPROS renewal application and expires on June 30 of odd-numbered years, a different date from the medical license. DPR's renewal page states that CSR holders must file a separate renewal application.

What CME do I attest to at renewal? ▾

40 hours of Category 1 (AMA or AOA) CME per two-year cycle. CSR holders also need 2 hours in controlled substance prescribing or chronic pain topics each cycle, plus a one-time 1-hour Delaware controlled substance law course within the first year of CSR registration. Starting with the renewal cycle ending March 31, 2027, 2 of the 40 hours must cover Alzheimer's/dementia unless you qualify for the statutory attestation exemption.
