The board splits MD licensees into two groups: "licenses in Group 1 expire on January 31 in even-numbered years and those in Group 2 expire on January 31 in odd-numbered years" (your group is set by the board, not by your birth date or license anniversary; check your printed expiration date). DO: fixed date, the licensure biennial period concludes on March 31 of even-numbered years (all DOs renew together). Online renewal opens no later than 90 days before expiration; the deadline is midnight Eastern Time on the expiration date.

No. Florida verifies CME through CE Broker, the state continuing-education tracking system. Your hours (40 per biennium, including the mandatory topics) must be reported into CE Broker; board staff cannot enter them for you. Keep your certificates in case of audit.
Can I let my license go inactive or retired instead of renewing active? ▾
Yes, both boards offer inactive and retired statuses at renewal (MD: inactive $125, retired $55; DO: inactive $205, retired $55 when done on time). Reactivating later is much more expensive (MD inactive-to-active $605 on time; DO $605) and costs more still if done delinquent.
